Challenger Raceway INDIANA, Penn. (July 17) - Race fans and race teams planning on attending The UFo Ultimate and FallFest Super Championships at the Challenger Raceway in October can now purchase tickets at a significant discount. The massive 3-day event will feature over $145,000 in prize payoffs with a total of $25,000 to win for the UFo Super Late Models.
The event will kick off on Thursday, October 9 with the rescheduled Mega-Blitz 2008. This portion of the event will feature a full UFo Super Late Model racing program paying $3,000 to the winner. Friday, October 10 will feature the Night Flight Scramble with eight 17-lap Super Late Model qualifiers, plus heat races for Semi-Lates, Cadets, Sport Stocks & Roadrunners. The grand finale of the weekend will take place on Saturday October 11 with the running of the 91-lap Ultimate paying $22,000 to win and $1,500 for 24th for UFo Super Late Models, plus the annual FallFest Super Championships for the other classes.
Advance, 2-day adult grandstand tickets for the Night Flight Scramble and The Ultimate are now on sale at $45, which represents a $9 savings on each ticket from the gate price. Advance 2-day pit tickets are also available at $61, which is at a $5 discount over the gate price. Reserved seating is also available on the top 3 rows of the entire grandstand seating area for the Night Flight Scramble and The Ultimate. Reserved seating is a $6 per space upcharge on any advance ticket price. 2-day junior tickets are available for $27, with 2-day child tickets available at $15.
Tickets for the Mega-Blitz 2008 on Thursday, October 9 will be sold at the gate only as this will be considered a stand-along event. Ticket prices will be $18 for adults, $9 for juniors 11-15, $5 for children 5-10 and $25 for the pits. Gate ticket prices for the Night Flight Scramble on Friday, October 10 will be the same pricing as the Mega-Blitz 2008. Gate ticket prices for The Ultimate and FallFest Super Championships on Saturday, October 11 will be $36 for adults, $18 for juniors 11-15, $10 for children 5-10 and $41 for pit entry.
Race teams will also be able to purchase advance pit passes at the same time they send in their pre-entry. The pre-entry form, which will be released in the upcoming weeks, will also include ticket order information.
Discount tickets must be purchased by Wednesday, October 1. Tickets may be purchased by mail by sending a completed ticket order form with payment to the raceway office. The order form is available at the Challenger Raceway website http://www.challengerraceway.com. Tickets my be purchased by credit card by calling the raceway office at 724-726-5494, Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.
The 2007 edition of The Ultimate & FallFest Super Championships produced a monster car count of over 300 cars and an all-time record crowd for the raceway. Advance and reserved tickets are expected to be in high demand for the 2008 race. Billy Drake of Bloomington, IL captured his biggest win ever after starting 15th on the grid for the 75-lap Ultimate. This year's event features an increased payoff of $22,000 to win for a unique 91-lap feature event.
The first ever UFo Race Champion will also be determined at the Ultimate. Currently, Jared Miley of South Park, PA holds a small 5 point lead over Alex Ferree from Saxonburg PA, with Keith Barbara of South Park, PA trailing Ferree by just 7 points. Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, PA and Shawn McGarvey of Coalport, PA round out the current top 5. Mike Johnson from Imperial, PA, Rodney Sweitzer of Stoystown, PA, Matt Dobnak from West Mifflin, PA, Herman Bertolini of Creighton, PA and Mel Minnick, Jr. from Uniontown PA round out the top 10.
The next event in the UFo Race Championship Tour presented by Comcast will be on Sunday, August 3 at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV for the running of the Earl Hill Championship. The winner of the 51 lap event at the quarter-mile bullring, the smallest track to host the UFo Series in 2008, will earn $4,000.
