SMITHFIELD, Va. (July 15) - On June 27th The Brent Robinson Inc. (BRI) race team made the trek to Dublin Speedway in Dublin, NC for a $1,500 to win show after a 4 week break waiting on a new carburetor. The night started off well with Brent posting a solid qualifying lap to earn the second starting positing for the 25 lap feature event. Brent jumped out into the lead and never looked back leading every lap to earn the win over Shawn Beasley and Ed Gibbons.

Following the first win of 2008 the team would head north to Clary's Speedway in Brinkleyville, NC for a $5,000 to win Carolina Clash event at the 1/3 mile oval. Brent would post another solid qualifying lap starting the team in the 7th position for the 50 lap feature. Another strong showing would put the #3 Terry's Heating and A/C, CAMS Race Engines, Fletchers Hauling, County Marine Services, Chevrolet Monte Carlo inside the top 5 all night until contact from Booper Bare sent Brent spinning into the infield with just 2 laps to go.

"It feels great to get that first win of the season under our belt. We had to take a few weekends off to kind of regroup get a few things straight with the team and now I think it was definitely worth it. The new carburetor has just really turned our program completely around and we should have had 2 top 5 finishes this weekend until I got spun coming to the white flag on Saturday night, but I don't forget things and I just race people exactly how they race me," stated Brent Robinson via telephone from his house in Smithfield, VA.

Only July 5th the BRI race team once again traveled south to Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, NC for another $5,000 to win Carolina Clash show. The night started off well with Brent posting a 4th place qualifying effort among the 34-car field. After a heavy rain shower the race was rescheduled for Sunday afternoon. After hanging just outside the top 5 for the first few laps a cut LR tire would send Brent to the rear of the field on lap 5. Quickly going back to where he left off Brent would charge through the field and by the time the checkered flag flew would find him in the 5th position capping another great run.

After a rainout at Dublin Speedway on July 11th the team would head west to Friendship Speedway in Elkin, NC for a $4,000 to win Carolina Clash event at a track the team had never seen before. The night started out with Brent posting a 17th place qualifying effort out of the 40 car field relegating him to a heat race. The team would post a 4th place finish in the heat earning the 22nd starting position in the 40-lap feature event. For the second week in a row Brent would make a charge through the field earning the Hard Charger Award gaining 12 positions to earn another top 10 finish with the Carolina Clash.

"We have been having some real strong runs here lately if we wouldn't have had to come from the rear of the field two weeks in a row they might have been even better! We finally got all of our problems with this car figured out and now this thing will just run."

This weekend the team will be in action at Dublin Speedway in Dublin, NC for a $1,500 to win show on Friday night and then on July 19th will stay nearby and race at the Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, NC for a $2,500 to win event.
