WHEATLAND, Mo. (July 15) - In less then a week the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Models thunder back into the Lucas Oil Speedway for their second and final appearance this season. Waiting at the gate they will find the top drivers from the O'Reilly MLRA presented by Lucas Oil Products.

"It's always a blast when the Lucas Oil Late Models and MLRA guys get together," said Kevin Greven, General Track Manager. "And they all love to come to Wheatland."

The rain marred SuperClean Diamond Nationals marked their last appearance and even though the Speed Channel broadcast event ended with great racing, few of the drivers left satisfied.

"These guys are old school racers," added Greven, "it's not just about a big purse, it's about putting on a show for the fans. The Diamond Nats was an awesome race, but having to postpone it a day really affected the usual fan count."

Several drivers have expressed their desire to get back to the Diamond of Dirt Tracks and do what they do best, putting on a killer show, in front of a packed house. Last season the Citizen's Memorial Hospital Late Model Showdown was the top attended event of the 2007 season, this Saturday July 19th, will be no exception.

"Mother Nature has been tough on race tracks, racers and fans this season," ended Greven. "From the fan standpoint, I think they are all ready for a big race and nice weather. If we get the weather, the Lucas Boys and the O'Reilly MLRA will definitely fill the bill. It could be standing room only."

"Midland Sportscards has been a valuable contributor to the track this season," said Kevin Greven, General Track Manager. "They not only do they print cards for many race teams but they also print our program guides and post cards."

Midland has been a key player in the tracks 2008 goal of bringing the racer to the fans. They sponsor all autograph sessions plus our pre-race showcase that puts racers rides on the midway before every race.

AAA Winner's Circle, Awesome

The AAA Winner's Circle has been one of the best received additions to the Lucas Oil Speedway this season. It's a toss up as to who likes it most, the drivers or the fans.

"Our goal this season was to bring the racer to the fan," said Kevin Greven, General Track Manager. "The AAA Winner's Circle has done that and more."

The NASCAR Style Winner's Circle made its debut this season on the South end of the Track's midway area. It allows direct access for the fans to get up close and personal with the drivers and vice-versa.

"It really started last season at the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing Event," added Greven. "Because it was a Nationally Televised event we decided to bring the winners up to the midway. It was awesome watching the fans interact with the racers. It was a no brainer that it should become a permanent fixture at the track."

AAA of Missouri was a perfect match and actually the only company that saw the sponsorship proposal; it was an immediate, yes. Since then the top three drivers from every feature (Nationally Televised or not) make their way to the top side for photo ops, interviews, plus up close and personal contact with the fans.

As part of the winning experience, driver interviews and trophy presentations are broadcast live in HD to our giant jumbo tron screen. Coming soon, these same presentations will be streaming on our new website at LucasOilSpeedway.com.
