Lowe's PR
CONCORD, N.C. (February 19) - Dirt late model legends Scott Bloomquist and Billy Moyer are among those who will battle for the $50,000 first-place prize during the third annual Circle K Colossal 100 April 18-19 at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Part of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, the Circle K Colossal 100 is the first marquee late model race of the season and Bloomquist and Moyer are among nearly 100 drivers expected to participate in the two-day extravaganza.

Bloomquist is the only winner of the Circle K Colossal 100. In the 2006 inaugural, the Mooresburg, Tenn., resident started fourth and led the final 49 laps en route to the $50,000 prize. Last year, Bloomquist's winning drive was considerably more difficult as he and Chris Madden exchanged the lead five times. Bloomquist assumed command for the final time following a lap-84 restart, but then had to fend off Madden's last-lap charge for his second consecutive victory.

A member of the Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame, Bloomquist  has won more than 450 late model races in a career that started on a California dirt track in 1980. He is a three-time winner of the prestigious World 100
and his resumé also includes four victories in the Show Me 100.

The nation's most prolific dirt late model driver so far this season with six victories, Moyer is looking to end a string of bad luck that has left the Batesville, Ark., racer with a best finish of 25th in the two previous editions of the Circle K Colossal 100.

Also a member of the Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame, Moyer has more than 700 victories in a career that started in 1977. He is a five-time winner of the World 100 and has multiple victories in several of the nation's other top events. He's a three-time champion of the nomadic World of Outlaws circuit and has also earned titles with the United States Auto Club, the National Championship Racing Association and the Hav-A-Tampa Racing Series.

The Friday night portion of the Circle K Colossal 100 features group time trials and heat races. The top two finishers in each heat will secure a spot in the 100-lap finale and a draw will determine the starting lineup.

Saturday night's program begins with a driver autograph session and the on-track action includes at least four additional qualifying races prior to the main event. The race is part of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, but The Dirt Track's traditional format, including the extremely popular Delaware-style restarts, will be utilized.

If purchased in advance, reserved tickets for both Friday and Saturday nights are just $39 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under. Two-day pit passes are $60 in advance.

Tickets and pit passes for the April 18-19 Circle K Colossal 100 can be purchased online at www.lowesmotorspeedway.com or by calling 1-800-455-FANS.

The Fleetwood RV Camping Resort is located adjacent to The Dirt Track and full-service camping spots can be reserved by calling (704) 455-4445.
