TEXARKANA, Tex. (January 29) - The 2007 Arkansas Motorsports Professionals Series Champion, Jon "Catman" Mitchell is poised to defend his Championship by running the full AMP Schedule for the second year in a row. Jon will also be making other races around the region as well, which will be announced at a later time.

In 2007, Jon was in a heated battle for the points championship with the 2007 Rookie of the Year Kyle Beard, when he got on a late season hot streak which catapulted him into the points lead, and led to him being named the Points Champion of the AMP Series in it's Inaugural Season.

2007 Season high lites for Jon included winning a MSRA Sanctioned Late Model Event, and 4 AMP Sanctioned Late Model events, to include the $5000 to win Topless 40 race at Monticello Speedway.

The AMP Series will kick off the 2008 Season at North Alabama Speedway on March 21 as the AMP Series and the MSCCS Series battle head to head in the Battle of the States. The 2008 Tour also includes stops at Corinth, Mississippi, I-30 Speedway, Central Arkansas Speedway, Batesville Motor Speedway, Monticello Speedway, Beebe Speedway, Greenville Speedway, as well a Challenge races between AMP, SUPR, MSCCS, and the WoO Late Model Series.
