TRUMANN, Ark. (January 29) - On Saturday night, Kyle Beard attended the Arkansas Motorsports Professionals (AMP) Super Late Model Series Banquet and was recognized for his 2007 accomplishments.

In 2007, Kyle followed the AMP Super Late Model tour, and for much of the year battled for the top spot in the point standings. Bad luck late in the year prevented Kyle from winning the title, but he was able to pick up three AMP feature wins along the way. In addition, to finishing 2nd in the point standings, Kyle was presented with 2007 AMP Rookie of the Year honors. On Saturday night, January 26th Kyle received a $2,000 check, a large trophy, and several contingency prizes for his efforts as he was honored at the AMP Banquet in Sherwood, Arkansas.

This weekend, Kyle will return to action for the second time in 2008, as he travels to Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi for the 8th Annual Carl Hogan Honda Winter Classic. The event pays $3,000 to win and $200 to start for the 40 lap event that will attract many of the region's top drivers. An open practice will be held on Friday from 4pm to 8pm and racing action gets underway on Saturday at 2pm. For more information, please visit www.ColumbusSpeedway.net .

Kyle has already competed in one event in 2008, and it was the 17th Annual Ice Bowl at Talladega Short Track in Eastagoba, Alabama. Kyle struggled in qualifying, and as a result, he had to start at the back of his heat race. He charged from 12th to 8th on a one groove race track in his heat race. As a result of his finish, he had to start 9th in his b-main on Sunday. Kyle was once again able to advance to the front of the pack on a one groove track. However, he would finish 3rd, which was one spot short of a transfer to the feature event. Despite, narrowly missing the show Beard Motorsports had a great weekend and learned a lot about their new GRT by Frye.

Kyle Beard would like to thank his sponsors including KB Transport, Gary Beard Trucking, Samuel's Performance Engines, Extreme Graphix (Jonesboro, AR), Bill Frye Motorsports, and MSRMafia.com. Beard Motorsports is always looking for more sponsors, and anyone, who may be interested, can find more information at www.KyleBeard86.com .
