CHOWCHILLA, Calif. (July 11) - 2007 Series champion Mike Johnson of Lompoc, CA survived some rough track conditions to post his first DIRTcar Western Allstars Late Model win of the season on Saturday night at Chowchilla Speedway. Johnson worked his way up the leaderboard and took the lead with three laps to go to claim the $2,000 prize money. Point leader Bobby Hogge of Salinas, CA took the checkers in second position followed by Andy Obertello of Hollister, CA and John Lowrey of Bakersfield, CA. Bakersfield rookie Clay Daly rounded out the top five finishers.

Hogge won the first heat over Richard Papenhausen of Chico, CA and Johnson. Shannon won the second heat and young gun Nick Bartels of El Segundo, CA captured heat number three over Lowrey. Bartels also won the pole dash to collect $100 from sponsor Raceimages.net
