CHICO, Calif. (June 19) - Defending Series champion Chris Shannon of Merced, CA captured his second straight DIRTcar Western Allstars Series victory on Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway. Shannon led the 30-lap Feather Falls Casino feature wire to wire surviving just one caution period on the high-banked quarter-mile oval. The 42-year-old also won his heat race and dash for an outstanding clean sweep of the evening.
Mike Johnson of Lompoc, CA finished second in the main event followed by Series point leader Bobby Hogge of Salinas, CA, Zack Forster and rookie Clay Daly both of Bakersfield.
Hayward's Shawn DeForest joined Shannon, Hogge and Johnson as heat race winners. I-5 DIRTcar Northwest opening night winner Casey Vitale of Lebanon, OR took the B-Main win.
