CHOWCHILLA, Calif. (April 18) - West coast Late Model and Modified star Kellen Chadwick of Oakley, CA made very short work of his 'comeback' following a near career-ending injury at the beginning of the 2008 season by racing to a flag to flag DIRTCar Western Allstars Late Model Series victory on Saturday night at Chowchilla Speedway. Fifth starting Jeff Decker of Morgan Hill finished second in the feature race followed by Chowchilla's Alex Stanford, season opener winner Bobby Hogge, Mike Johnson and Robert Sanders.
Stanford held off Chadwick for the win in the first heat race. Hogge of Salinas and John Lowrey of Bakersfield also picked up heat race wins. Hogge posted the fastest qualifying lap at 18.300.
