WHEEL, Tenn. (September 3) - Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN captured his fourth Southern Regional Racing Series win of the 2010 season on Friday night at the Duck River Speedway.

18 cars registered in. Two groups qualified. Fast time overall was Jay Brinkley with a 12.91 lap time. Fast qualifier in group 1 Anthony Burroughs. Fast time in group 2 was Jay Brinkley. The decision was made since there were only 18 cars that there would be no heat races. Line up was done by qualifying times.

Jay Brinkley took the lead at the drop of the green flag followed by Ronnie Johnson, Anthony Burroughs and David Earl Gentry. By lap 12, Brinkley still had the lead but Anthony Burroughs had slipped past Ronnie Johnson for the second place position. On lap 15, Burroughs took the lead from Brinkley but a caution for the M31 car of Tony Morris would revert the field back to the last completed lap voiding Burroughs pass for the lead. On lap 18 Ronnie Johnson, running the high groove, would take the lead from Brinkley and stay there to take the the checkered flag and the $2,000 jackpot. Top 5 was Ronnie Johnson, Jay Brinkley, Anthony Burroughs, David Earl Gentry and Dane Dacus.

During intermission, the first annual kid's box car races were run. There were 30 entrants in 4 age groups. This was a fantastic way to involve the kids and the kid's had a ball. Each participant received a trophy and prizes. The top 3 in each group received larger trophies plus cash winnings. Each one of the entrants were as thrilled as if they had won the Daytona 500!
