CHATSWORTH, Ga. (July 24) - Last night, Timmy Millwood's North Georgia Speedway (Chatsworth, GA) welcomed the PPM Race Products Southern Regional Racing Series Super Late Models to their facility. 32 top drivers representing 5 states registered in for the 40 lap, $3,000 to win feature race.
Randy Weaver quickly took the lead on the start of the race and would hold on, with Ronnie Johnson moving up and challenging him for the lead, until a broken racecar would retire Weaver for the night. Johnson would lead the rest of the 40 laps to take the checkered and the $3,000 jackpot. Second place went to Riley Hickman followed by Derek Ellis (Chatsworth, GA), Skip Arp (Georgetown, TN) and Brandon Kinzer (Allen, KY).
Fast qualifier for the night would be Randy Weaver (Crossville, TN) with a 12.89 lap time. This would secure Weaver the inside pole starting position for the main event. The rest of the top 9 qualifiers that would lock into the feature were David Payne, Kevin Gibson (Ringgold, GA), Ronnie Johnson (Chattanooga, TN), Skip Arp (Georgetown, TN), Bobby Giffin (Maryville, TN), Dusty Carver (Englewood, TN), Brad Coffey (Maryville, TN), Gary McPherson (Dalton, GA). Heat winners were Derek Ellis (Chatsworth, GA), Brandon Kinzer (Allen, KY), and Josh Putnam (Florence, AL).
