GLENCOE, Ala. (February 28) -  The "The Tarheel Tiger" Ray Cook brings his swagger to SRRS Season Opener at Green Valley Speedway's Bama Bash!

The PPM Raceproducts sponsored Southern Regional Racing Series kicked off the series' 2010 season at Green Valley Speedway's 13th annual Bama Bash! 54 Super Late Model's registered to try for the $10,000 jackpot.

Polesitter Ray Cook set the pace on the high line and piloted his #53 Mastersbilt to grab that jackpot. The "Tarheel Tiger" held off multiple attempts from lower groove running "Gatorman" Chris Wall. Wall started his #71 Mastersbilt in sixth position and went to second in only 12 laps. Wall took the lead from Cook a couple of times only to be pushed back by lapped traffic.

This was Cook's ninth win in the 5 year old Southern Regional Racing Series, tying him with Byron Michael as the all-time winner.

Two Tennessee drivers, Randy Weaver and Ronnie Johnson, tried valiantly to catch to two front runners but ended up third and fourth respectively. Mississippi's Bub McCool rounded out the top 5.

The 75 lap feature was fast paced and ran quickly with only two cautions the entire race.

The SRRS will be at Duck River Speedway this coming weekend, March 6th, for a 40-lap, $3,000 to win race.
