CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (November 1) - As the Southern Regional Racing Series, presented by PPM Racing Products season, comes down to conclusion, November 8th, at Duck River Speedway, the TNT Fireworks / Performance Connection team, of Florence, AL's Byron Michael, is poised to grab their second consecutive points title. Michael added a few more points to his lead, with a second place finish, on Saturday night, at Clarksville Speedway.
But this night belonged to Murfreesboro, TN's Tony "the Tiger" Morris. He guided his ALT Transportation / Morris Bros. Construction / Base Race Fuels TNT, through several caution flags, and hung on for his second SRRS win of the season. His Zanker / Hickerson powered Ford Fusion, battled with Michael most of the night, with Bedford, IN's Greg Johnson, and Benton,KY's Terry English in hot pursuit.
The biggest caution of the evening, out of several, took place on lap one, when Michael wound up with Johnson's car on top of his, with eight other Super Late Models involved. Fortunately, only one car was eliminated.
Morris' win kept him firmly in the top five, in the SRRS standings. Michael took second, with Johnson third. English rode home fourth, and Sparta, TN's Perry Delaney was fifth.
