POCOLA, Okla. (June 6) - Saturday June 6 the Race Brothers Show-Me Racin' Series was back in action at Tri-State Speedway. After a three week break, twenty-three late models showed up all vying to take the checkered flag first. Fans filled the grandstands all looking forward to an exciting race. Two local radio stations were at the track promoting the Show-Me series for their second stop this season at Tri-State Speedway. The final few laps proved to be a very close race. In the end it was Ken Essary, The Flying Farmer, in the 55 who would come away with the win.

The night began with three qualifying heat races. Heat number one went to the 98 of Justin Wells. Heat two was won by Rex Merritt in the 25x. The third and final late model heat was won by the 21 of Jordan Holloway. The 9 of Chris Lapp experienced engine trouble ending his night early. Only twenty-two cars were left, therefore qualifying everyone into the A Main.

After driver introductions and the traditional four-wide salute to the fans, everyone was ready to get the twenty-five lap main event underway. The 77 of Roger Wilson and the 21 of Jordan Holloway would set the pace from the front row. The green flew and the race to the checkered began. Immediately the 21 of Holloway jumped out to the lead. The 11 of Jarrod Hilton was right on his bumper as Holloway tried to pull away. On lap four, Ken Essary had worked his way to the front and was now in third. Ken Essary managed to pass Hilton on lap eight. Now it was a battle between the 21 and the 55 for the top position. Lap twelve brought out the first caution of the night for the 31 of Ron Johnson on the front stretch. The 55 took over the lead on the restart, but he had some hard chargers behind him. It was a fight for every position between the 98 of Justin Wells, the 5 of Leslie Essary, and the 21 of Jordan Holloway. The 98 of Wells was right behind the 55 of Ken and applying pressure for the top spot. The 5 and 21 were battling hard for third when the caution flag flew for the 1c of Chrs Deaton on the back straightway. On the restart, the 5 of Leslie Essary broke a wheel in turns one and two. The 7e of Phil Edmondson, the 50 of Kathy Tonoli, and the F7 of Scott Frye were all involved in the wreck as well. Only four laps were left and the 98 of Wells and the 55 of Ken Essary put on a show for the fans. It was a back and forth battle, with each driver using every line and groove to stay in front of the other. When the checkered flew, it was the 55 of Ken Essary who managed to hold on and take the win. The top five were; the 55 of Ken Essary, the 98 of Justin Wells, the 21 of Jordan Holloway, the 73 of Bill McMurtrie, and the 25x of Rex Merritt.

Next Saturday, June 13, the Race Brothers Show-Me Racin' Series will be in action at West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO for a $1000 to win, $300 to start event.
