Screven Motor Speedway
SYLVANIA, Ga. (June 26) - Chesley Dixon of Swainsboro, GA led all but one lap of a caution plagued feature at Screven Motor Speedway for his second career victory on the Southern All Stars Series tour on Saturday night. Dixon, who also won at Screven in 2007, had a fierce battle with defending series champion and eighth starting Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN who lost an engine just one lap after wrestling the lead from Dixon.

Dixon earned $5,000 in taking the checkers ahead of fast qualifier and current series point leader Scott Creel of Franklinton, LA and fifth starting Jordan Bland of Concord NC in a fifty lapper slowed by nearly 20 yellow flags.

Weaver worked his way into second by the twenty-first lap, and then turned up the heat on Dixon, once making the pass just before caution, but when Weaver took the lead on the twenty-fourth lap, another caution appeared for his own smoking power plant down the front stretch.

Dixon was back out front for the restart and led the rest of the way through a continued series of cautions and numerous challenges from Creel who ended up second ahead of Bland who had spun earlier relegating him to the tail and once more for a flat tire but was able to make a run at second before settling for third at the end of the nearly 90 minute long feature.
