DODGE CITY, Kans. (July 31) - Four-time series champion Kelly Boen of Henderson, Colorado continued his winnings ways as he led flag to flag in winning the O'Reilly/NCRA late models first and only event for the 2010 race season at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kansas Saturday night in a race that was also a combined event with the CLMA DIRTCar series.

Grand Junction, Colorado's Dean Moore started on the pole for the thirty lap feature but it was Boen quickly taking the point as the green flag fell. Boen jumped out to a commanding half stretch lead by lap two while behind him, third starting David Brach gott around Moore for the runner up position.

Lap four would see the first of four cautions wave when Broken Bow, Oklahoma's Gary Christian came to a stop coming out of turn two.

Boen would throttle away from the field on the restart while behind him it was Brach, Moore, series leading rookie contender Jase Kaser and Mike Wiarda. Former two-time series champion Al Purkey worked the top of the three-eighths mile oval to perfect as the Coffeyville, Kansas late model veteran started sixteenth and by lap five had worked his way into the sixth position.

Caution flags on lap six and fourteen slowed the pace but on each restart, Boen, aboard his Road Runner Fabrication/Peterson Fluid Systems sponsored Rocket chassis, would keep those at bay.

At the races Peterson Fluid Systems midway point it was all Boen, followed by Moore and eighth starting Even Hubert of Cross Timbers, Missouri, who had also found the top side against the wall to his liking.

The final caution would wave on lap eighteen when Cale Gottschalk and J.T. Botts got together on the front stretch.

On the final restart it was once again Boen stretching out his lead while Hubert, who had worked his way up into the runner up position and Wiarda battled for the runner up spot.

Boens lead had opened to a half stretch with ten laps to go but this also meant lapped traffic was once again awaiting the series all-time late model feature winner. This allowed Hubert to close the distance aboard his Lucas Oil/Rock Star Energy Drink/Fast Shafts/Magnaflow sponosred Russell Baker powered Masterbuilt chassis to three car lengths by lap twenty-three.

But that would be as close as anybody would get as Boen would once again pull away from the rest of the field in the wanning laps to record his eighths series victory of the season.

Hubert held on for the runner up position while Kaser had his best series finish to date in the third spot. Wiarda settled for fourth with Moore rounding out the top five.

Heat races for the twenty-six car field were won by Moore, Boen, Christian and Brach while Corey Zeitner of Bellevue, Nebraska topped the ten lap "B" feature.

From here the series heads to the home track of the O'Reilly Auto Parts National Championship Racing Association and 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas.
