NCRA LATE MODELS ANNOUNCE AMBITIOUS 17 RACE SCHEDULE FOR THE 2009 RACE SEASON

PARK CITY, Kans. (January 26) - Officials with the O'Reilly/NCRA late model division have announced an ambitious 17 race schedule for the 2009 race season with several more dates expected in the coming weeks. Among the season highlights include two new stops for the series, a first visit in at least 23 yrs. to one track along with annual events once again held under the NCRA banner.

The 26th Anniversary season opener for the NCRA late model division takes place on Friday night, May 22 at Mid-Nebraska Speedway in Doniphan, Nebraska. After a Saturday night off it is then on to I-80 Speedway at Nebraska Raceway Park in Greenwood, Nebraska for the 8th annual Alphabet Soup race.

Some first for the series in the month of June begins on Thursday night, June 18 as Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker, Oklahoma plays host to that tracks first ever late model event. The next night will be the first ever co-sanctioned event with the MARS late model series with a stop at Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri. It will be the first appearance for the NCRA late model division at the track since June of 1986. The next night (June 20) both series head west to 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas. One week later on Saturday night, June 27, the late model drivers head to Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska for the first of two appearances on the season.

Independence Holiday weekend gets underway on Thursday night, July 2, with the second appearance of the season at I-80 Speedway at Nebraska Raceway Park in a co-sanctioned event with the MLRA. The tour takes a break from series points the next night before making their first ever appearance at Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa on Saturday night, July 4 with MLRA before putting the holiday weekend to a climax on Sunday night, July 5, at the famed Belleville Highbanks Speedway in Belleville, Kansas.

Then on Friday and Saturday night, August 17-18, the series heads to Mid-America Speedway in Doniphan for the 18th annual Pump & Pantry Late Model Nationals in a co-sanctioned affair with MLRA.

Labor Day weekend begins at the series home track of 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas on Friday night, September 4, before heading to Heartland Park Topeka in Kansas on Saturday night. Labor Day weekend concludes on Sunday night, September 6, at the Belleville Highbanks.

The 2009 race season is set to come to a close on Saturday night, September 26, with the annual running of the Cornhusker Classic at I-80 Speedway at Nebraska Raceway Park.
