WHEATLAND, Mo. (April 9) - As unseasonably warm temperatures greeted race fans making their way to the Lucas Oil Speedway for the first time in 2011, the action on the track was even hotter as Mount Vernon, Iowa's Chad Simpson topped a huge 55 car Lucas Oil MLRA field enroute to his second career MLRA win.

With Simpson holding the field at bay working lap traffic, Galena, Missouri's Jesse Stovall made his way up to the second spot at the finish in his Steve Rushin owned Larry Shaw Race Car. Lebanon, Missouri's Brandon McCormick led the way for the GRT's coming across the AAA Start/Finish line in the third spot at the finish followed by Team Custard, Jeremy Payne and Terry Phillips in fourth and fifth respectively. Greenbrier, Arkansas' Jack Sullivan wheeled his GRT House Car to a sixth place showing as 6-time MLRA Champion Alan Vaughn took the seventh spot in the final rundown. Al Purkey out of Coffeyville, KS, Kyle Berck from Marquette, NE, and R.C. Whitwell all the way from Tucson, AZ rounded out the Top-10.
