SOUTH COFFEYVILLE, Okla. (October 22) - Despite a few rain showers, night one of The Inaugural Bud Purkey Memorial is in the books. The Lucas Oil MLRA points championship event started out with heat races on Friday evening. Jeremy Payne, Brad Looney and Dave Eckrich won each of three heats. Jeremy Payne pulled double duty, winning his modified heat as well. Hatfield Racing Engines/Larry Shaw Race Cars Pole Dashes were slated to run Friday, but were postponed to Saturday following a late evening shower at the conclusion of the heat races.

Current second place Lucas Oil MLRA points contender, Brad Looney will start out front in the Hatfield Racing Engines/Larry Shaw Race Cars Pole Dash. The pole dash will consist of the top six drivers in passing points from the heat. Jeremy Payne, Dave Eckrich, Brandon McCormick, Terry Phillips and Matt Johnson will make up the balance of the field. The dash will be ten laps and set the first three rows for the 50 lap A Feature.

Saturday night the Lucas Oil MLRA $6000 to win feature grandstand admission is $20 for adults, children ages 7-15 are just $5. Children ages 5 and under are FREE!
