MAYETTA, Kans. (October 9) - Kelly Boen takes double feature wins in two nights of racing at Thunder Hill Speedway. Saturday night's victory made number 18 in Boen's Lucas Oil MLRA career. Boen came into the night with an average finish of 4.4 this season with the series. The 07 started on the outside of row one for the feature, along side the 33 of Al Purkey. Al Purkey led lap one of the 35 lap A Main Event before Boen sped by on lap two to lead the remainder of the feature. Chad Simpson and Alan Vaughn fought neck and neck for several laps for third before a caution on lap 10. Evan Hubert in the 9 would bring out the yellow and retire to the pit area for the evening. Chad Simpson would catch up to Purkey and give the second spot a run, eventually capturing the position and holding on until the checkers. Purkey would remain in third place with Delbert Smith and Brad Looney wrapping up the top five positions.
