Dan Robinson BUCKNER, Mo. (March 31) - The O'Reilly MLRA presented by Lucas Oil Products thunders back to life this Saturday April 4th at the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska for the 2009 Season Opener. This will be the first of 23 scheduled events for The O'Reilly MLRA in 2009.
NASCAR Pro-Ams and IMCA Modifieds will also be in action as it is also the Season Opener for the I-80 Speedway.
Action on the 4/10th mile dirt oval gets underway on Friday, April 3rd with an open practice session. The gates are set to open at 5:30pm with practice scheduled to run from 6:30pm-9:30pm. Pit passes on Friday will be $20 and grandstand admission is free.
Saturday's activities get underway with hot laps at 6:00pm with racing set to get underway at 6:30. General admission for this $3,000 to win show is just $15. Pit Passes will be $30.
Omaha, Nebraska's John Anderson is the reigning MLRA Champion and will be on hand to begin his title defense. It won't be easy however as stiff challenges are expected from MLRA veterans David Turner, Denny Woodworth, and Al Purkey just to name a few. A strong field of rookie contenders will also be in action this weekend for their first taste of Super Late Model racing.
The I-80 Speedway is located off I-80 at exit 420 between Omaha and Lincoln and is part of the Nebraska Raceway Park complex, which also includes the Little Sunset Speedway go-kart track and Soaring Edge Motocross Park.
