O'REILLY MLRA SERIES SEASON OPENERS THIS WEEK AT MIDWAY AND LUCAS OIL SPEEDWAYS

BUCKNER, Mo. (April 1) - The 2008 season for the O'Reilly MLRA presented by Lucas Oil gets underway this weekend April 4th-5th, and that's no joke! The Lebanon Midway Speedway is the first stop on the Thunder Tour for 2008 on Friday night April 4th while the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri rounds out the weekend's pair of $3,000 to win shows on Saturday, April 5th.

Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer, Billy Moyer captured the win in the series lone visit to the Lebanon Midway Speedway in 2007. The MLRA will make two visits to the 3/8th mile Midway facility in 2008. Support classes include A-Mods, B-Mods, Factory Stocks, Super Stocks, and Bombers. Pit Gates open at 4:30 on Friday with racing scheduled to begin at 8:00. Adult General admission is $15, juniors 11-15 are $5, with race fans under 10 admitted free to the speedway. The Diamond of Dirt tracks is the setting for Saturday night as The Bolivar Herald-Free Press presents Round I of the O'Reilly MLRA Late Model Challenge at The Lucas Oil Speedway. A-Modifieds and Factory Stocks are scheduled as support classes with large car counts in all three divisions the norm at Lucas. Driver's will not only be gunning for the $3,000 to win top prize but also looking to gain valuable track time in preparation for the $40,000 to win Diamond Nationals co-sanctioned by the MLRA in early May. Pits Gates open at 3:00, Grandstand gates open at 4:00 with racing set to get underway at 6:00pm on Saturday, April 5th. Adult Reserved Tickets are $22 available online at www.lucasoilspeedway.com, Adult General Admission is $20 with discount tickets for $18 available at all area O'Reilly Auto Parts stores, Military with I.D. is $12, Youth 6-11 are just $5, and kids under 5 admitted free.

The Lucas Oil Speedway is a 3/8th mile; semi-banked clay oval located 5 Blocks south of US Highway 54, on State Highway 83, in Wheatland, MO. Officials with the MLRA are also proud to announce the addition of two more races to the 2008 schedule of events. The first addition to the 2008 tour will see a visit to the Nevada Speedway, in Nevada, Missouri on Saturday night June 28th. The Nevada Speedway is a 1/4 mile semi-banked oval located between Joplin and Kansas city just off of US 71 in Nevada, Missouri. The second addition to the schedule will see back to back Independence Day events in conjunction with the previously scheduled event on July 3rd at 24 Raceway in Moberly, Missouri. The series will also visit Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri on Friday night July 4th for a fantastic evening of fireworks on the track and in the sky.
