Dan Robinson BUCKNER, Mo. (March 31) - Officials with the O'Reilly MLRA presented by Lucas Oil are pleased to announce that Midwest Walnut as signed on to return as a major series sponsor for the 2008 racing season. Midwest Walnut has also agreed to renew its very popular Midwest Walnut Lucky Stars Award in celebration of the MLRA's 20th season of dirt late model racing action.
The Midwest Walnut Lucky Stars Award will be contested at select O'Reilly MLRA events throughout the season with a $1000 bonus going to a select finishing position in the race. Prior to the feature event a number between 11 and 22 or 24 (depending on the number of competitors) will be drawn. This position will be kept private until after the event is completed. At that point the competitor finishing in the position corresponding with the number drawn will receive a $1000 bonus in addition to their race winnings, from our great friends at Midwest Walnut.
To be eligible for the Midwest Walnut Lucky Stars Award competitors must be an O'Reilly MLRA member and display both the O'Reilly MLRA and Midwest Walnut decals on the sides of their car. Drivers must also have competed in two O'Reilly MLRA events before they are eligible to claim the award. The selected Midwest Walnut Lucky Stars Award events is being finalized and will be announced shortly.
