PEVELY, Mo. (August 28) - Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR sweeps the MARS / UMP Challenge by winning the feature event at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, MO. Moyer started the $5,000 to win feature from the sixth position and tracked down race long leader Jeremy Payne of Springfield, MO near the half way point of the forty lap affair. Once out front Moyer opened up a full straight-away lead over eventual second place finisher Shannon Babb of Mowequa, IL. Payne would hold on to finish third.

Former UMP National Champion Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, IL sat on the pole and finished in fourth. Brian Shirley of Chatam, IL started in the ninth position and finished in fifth.

The forty lap feature went caution free and only took 12 minutes to run. In addition, all twenty-four starters finished the race.

Billy Moyer records his 13th career win with the MARS series.

Next up for the MARS DIRTcar Series is the 39th Annual 4-State Dirt Track Championships on September 5th at Monett Speedway in Monett, MO.
