MONETT, Mo. (April 26) - Springfield Missouri's Terry Phillips finds the winners circle in MARS action at Monett Speedway. After a lap 6 caution by Will Vaught of Crane, MO for a flat tire, fourth starting Phillips would take to the high side on the double file restart to take the lead from early race leader, Eric Turner of Hermitage, MO. Phillips would hold back charges from 5-time series point champion Bill Frye of Greenbrier, AR enroute to his first MARS victory of the 2009 season.

Eric Turner and Brad Looney of Republic, MO would start on the front row of the $2,500 to win feature. Turner was running third when a dead battery on Lap 25 would end his strong run and relegate him to a 15th place finish. Former Monett Speedway track champion, Brad Looney also had a great race as he finished 4th in the final rundown.

Racing legend and Dirt Hall of Fame inductee Ken Essary of Cape Fair, MO was the hard charger as he started sixteenth and finished eighth.
