34TH ANNUAL DART WINTERNATIONALS EAST BAY RACEWAY PARK - TIRE RULE BULLETIN

James Essex
CORONA, CA (December 18) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series has announced the tire rule for the 34th Annual DART Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park. The tire rule for the event, scheduled for February 1st through the 6th, 2010 will be open competition for both Hoosier and American Racer for Hot Lap sessions plus the B and A mains each night. A practice night is on the docket for Sunday January 31st from 6-9 PM.CO

For Time Trials and Heat Races, each entrant is mandated to use only one (1) set of (4) four Hoosier 1100's or American Racer SD23's tires per night; the entrant must use the same set of (4) four for both Qualification and Heat Races. There is to be no sharing of these (4) four tires [the one (1) allotted set of (4) four Hoosier 1100's or American Racer SD23's] with any other entrant, and will be branded and marked to reflect each entrant. After qualifying and prior to a heat race, there is to be no washing or cleaning of any of the four (4) tires used during qualifications. Any Hoosier or American Racer compound will be allowed for the B-Mains and A Feature during each night of competition. If for any reason an entrant has a flat tire after qualifications, and uses an unbranded tire in a Heat Race, that entrant will start tail-back in the Heat Race.

No tire entered into Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competition at the 34th Annual DART Winternationals will be allowed if defaced, chemically altered, whether it be by means of non biodegradable or biodegradable chemicals; defrauded; or otherwise enhanced in an attempt improve performance. All tires must have the make and compound clearly visible at all times; no taping over, grinding off, or otherwise covering up of the make and compound of the tire will be permitted. Each tire must pass the designated Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series hoop test of 16.75 inches (no 11/92 wide tires permitted). Approved methods of preparing a tire for competition are by means of grooving, siping, and/or buffing of a tire; however, it must pass all portions of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series inspection at anytime.
