LOCUST GROVE, Ark. (August 14) - Terry Phillips of Springfield, MO and current Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship Point's Leader, Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN will make up the front row for the 17th Annual COMP Cams Topless 100 on Saturday Night at Batesville Motor Speedway after the completion of Friday Night's PRC Time Trials and Heat Races.
First time Batesville visitor Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA set fast time in the PRC Time Trials for the 68 entrants on hand for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event. Heat race winners on Friday Night were Phillips, Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA; Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN; Bloomquist, Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; and John Blankenship of Williamson, WV.
Activities will get underway on Saturday with the gates opening at 3 pm, a driver's autograph session at 5:45 pm followed at 8 PM two B-mains and the 100 lap 17th Annual COMP Cams Topless 100 paying $40,000 to follow. The event will be taped by the cameras of SPEED Channel which will be shown on a date and time to be announced in the future.
