CORONA, Calif. (August 12) - The 17th Annual $40,000 to win COMP Cams Topless 100 is set for this upcoming weekend at the Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR. The crown jewel event will be sanctioned for the second consecutive year by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Tim McCreadie of Watertown, NY is the defending race winner.

Activities will get underway on Thursday Night, August 13th with an open practice session. On Friday Night, August 14th there will be PRC Time Trials for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series followed by the heat races. On Saturday Night, August 15th the evening will kick-off with the B-Mains followed by the 100 Lap 17th Annual COMP Cams Topless 100 paying $40,000 to win and $2,000 to start.

The 2009 COMP Cams Topless 100 general admission tickets are $20 for Friday and $25 for Saturday. Reserved seats are $25 for Friday and $30 for Friday. Gates will open at 4 PM on Friday and 3 PM on Saturday. For more information, go to www.batesvillemotorspeedway.net.

The tire rule for the event will be as follows: Hoosier LM40, shoulder-plated D55, shoulder-plated 1600; no crate tires will be allowed.

Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN; who is a 3-time winner of the Topless 100; remains the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship Points Leader after the Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 this past weekend at Florence (KY) Speedway. Bloomquist; with his third place finish in the race won by Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, WI; leads 4-time and defending series champion, Earl Pearson, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL by 185 points. Pearson finished fourth, just behind Bloomquist; at Florence. Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN, who came home fifth at Florence; stands third in points followed by '04 Topless 100 winner, Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA and Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN; who suffered the heartbreak of losing the $50,000 to win North/South 100 on the final lap to Mars; is fifth in points heading to Batesville eyeing the $40,000 top prize.

The remainder of the top ten in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship Point's Standings are Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC; Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN; Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY; Eric Jacobsen of Seacliffe Beach, CA; and John Blankenship of Williamson, WV.

John Blankenship leads the "Quarter Master" Rookie of the Year chase over David Breazeale of Four Corners, MS and Michael Walker of Franklin, TN.
