WEST PLAINS, Mo. (May 22) - Team Zero drivers Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN and Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN both piloting Bloomquist Race Car Chassis will start on the front row of Saturday Night's $40,000 to win 17th Annual O'Reilly Auto Parts Show-Me 100 Presented by DART Machinery for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO.

Owens, who was the fastest qualifier in PRC Time Trials for the 66 cars that were on hand for the event spun a number one on the invert wheel, which meant he would start on the pole of the first heat which he won after a side-by-side battle for the first half of the race with Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN who finished second. Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC made a last lap pass on Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL to capture the third and final transfer spot out of heat race number one.

In heat number two it was Springfield, MO's Jeremy Payne grabbing the win as he held off a hard-charging Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN for the victory. Brian Shirley of Chatham, IL grabbed the third and final transfer spot ahead of Jeff Floyd of Walnut Ridge, AR.

The third heat was taken by Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA who dominated his heat, outrunning Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY and Dan Schlieper of Sullivan, WI who also earned starting spots in the Show-Me 100 by finishing second and third. Schlieper held off rookie Jason Hughes of West Plains, Mo for the final transfer position.

The fourth heat race, which determines the outside of the front row for the Show-Me 100 on Saturday Night; was taken by five-time race winner Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN. Bloomquist ran away with his heat race leading wire-to-wire over three-time event winner, Wendell Wallace of Batesville, AR and Terry Phillips of Springfield, MO made a thrilling last-lap pass on Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA to take the third and final transfer spot.

The fifth heat went to Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, WI who had to battle through some heavy traffic on his way to his win. Chris Madden of Gaffney, SC finished second followed by Jeep VanWormer of Pinconning, MI who got the final transfer spot. Dane Dacus of Lakeland, TN was fourth.

The final heat of the night was a race-long duel between Brandon Kinzer of Allen, KY and three-time Show-Me 100 winner Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR. Moyer tried lap after lap to pass Kinzer but came up one-car length short. Trailing Kinzer and Moyer was Scott James of Lawrenceburg, IN who transferred to his second career Show-Me 100 by placing third. Eric Turner of Hermitage, MO was fourth.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned 17th Annual O'Reilly Auto Parts Show-Me 100 Presented by DART Machinery will conclude on Saturday Night with the Manufacturers Dash, two B-Mains and the 100 lap Show-Me 100 paying $40,000 to win.
