CORONA, Calif. (January 19) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return for a fifth consecutive year to the "DART Winternationals" at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL. The 33rd annual event will be contested from February 2nd -7th. There will be six straight nights of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series racing concluding on Saturday Night, February 7th with a $12,000 to win event to be taped for the SPEED Channel. Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR is the defending "DART Winternationals" Points Fund Champion.
"It's a great relationship between East Bay Raceway Park and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and we look forward to seeing all the fans and competitors again in 2009," said East Bay Raceway Park Vice-President, Todd Hutto. Hutto also said that discount pricing is available for general admission and pit gate admission during the week-long of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series racing action at East Bay. "We are definitely looking forward to having Bud Keating and the fine folks at DART Machinery back on board again this year. They are a tremendous supporter of the series and of the 'DART Winternationals," Series Director Ritchie Lewis is equally as excited to be heading to Florida in February. "We are looking forward to being back at East Bay in 2009, working with Todd, Al Varnadore, and Jean Lynch; it is a great atmosphere to be around especially after a long winter and it's always great to see the ultra-exciting East Bay racing."
Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series have announced that hot laps will begin at 5:00 PM each day followed by a full racing program including the ever popular PRC Strawberry Dash. The tire rule for the East Bay Winternationals will be as follows in 2009; Hoosier 1100, 1300, 1350, 1600, LM40 and the shoulder plated D55 will be allowed and the American Racer SD23, SD44, SD48 and MD56 can be utilized.
