CORONA, Calif. (September 30) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is set to wrap-up its 2008 racing season this Friday and Saturday, October 3rd and 4th with a trip to the Peach State of Georgia.

On Friday Night, October 3rd the $10,000 to win "Rome Rumble" will take place at Rome Speedway in Rome, GA for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. It will mark the second ever appearance to the ½ mile high banked oval. The LOLMDS first appeared at Rome back in 2006 when this year's World 100 winner, Shane Clanton of Locust Grove, GA won the sanctioned event.

The $2.9 million dollar season for the series will conclude on Saturday Night, October 4th at the Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA for the 19th Annual Lucas Oil Dixie Shootout. A top prize of $15,000 will await the winner of the prestigious event which was cancelled last year after the passing of promoter, Mike Swims.

Both events will feature a complete show for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series with PRC Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and the Main Events. For more information on both race tracks you can go to the www.dixiespeedway.com website.

Pearson with three series wins this year drives for 2000 NASCAR Cup Champion, Bobby Labonte Racing based out of Archdale, NC.

Meanwhile Hartman is still trying to solidify the second spot in points as he is up 80 points over Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN. Billy Drake of Bloomington, IL and Scott James of Lawrenceburg, IN also face the reality of a top five finishes in the championship points standings if they can have good points nights this weekend.

The rest of the top ten in the series point's standings are still up for grabs with Terry Casey of New London, WI leading the second five ahead of Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, KY, Dan Schlieper of Sullivan, WI, Freddy Smith of Seymour, TN and Wayne Chinn of Bradford, OH.

Casey looks to clinch the 2008 Quarter Master Rookie of the Year Standings as he holds a healthy advantage over Chinn.
