PERTH, W.A. (April 16) - The Black Knight Ryan Halliday consolidated his recent return to race wining contention by cracking his first feature win of the Season at Kwinana Motorplex on Saturday night. With only one round to go of the R2C competition Series Filters Prodirt series Halliday has hit top form at the business end of the season.

Earlier in the night Halliday was asked what he was doing differently with the car to gain so much speed in recent events - His answer - "hell I wish we knew so we can keep doing it"

Joining him on the podium on Saturday were regular feature winners Craig Vosbergen & Brad Blake.

The feature nearly ended in tears for these two top of the points table drivers. Vosbergen pulled a last corner slide job on Blake to claim 2nd place threading the needle between Blake and a lapped car with only inches to spare. Blake switched back to the low line but unfortunately clipped the lapped car and limped across the line in third.

Back in the pack there was an enthralling battle as the likes of Jac Dolmans, Jason Oldfield, Michael Homes & Jeremy Hale raced three and four wide swapping positions every lap. In the end though, it was Jay Cardy who beat them all as he charged to 6th place after starting the feature from the rear.

Following the place getters home were 4th Ben Ludlow, 5th Brad Ludlow, 6th Jay Cardy, 7th Jac Dolmans, 8th Jason Oldfield, 9th Michael Holmes, 10th Jeremy Hale, 11th Wayne Coleman, 12th Peter Seaton

Halliday showed his intentions early in the night by claiming victory in heat one on a very tricky track that ranged from tacky to slippery like ice, flowed home by Ben Ludlow & Vosbergen.

The second heat was all Brad Ludlow's for the taking until he collided heavily with Jay Cardy who was attempting to pull infield with an ailing car. The incident caused major damage to both cars and it's a tribute to the crews that they were able to get the cars repaired in time for the feature. Eventually the win went to Blake from Halliday & Jamie Oldfield.

The WA Late Models next & final event for 2010/2011 is the Easter Grand final over two nights at Margaret River Speedway April 23rd & 24th.
