ELMA, Wash. (July 17) - Billy Workman Jr. pockets $3,000.00 winning DAA NW 40 lap feature at Sunset Speedway Park.

At the start of the 40 lap main Billy Workman Jr went to the cushion with Jason Wines running going to low line, the two would race side by side for many laps until Workman finally cleared Wines and would build a several car lead until slowed on lap 12 when Brandon Biffle stopped on the track with a flat tire in turns 3 & 4, Biffle would return after a quick tire change under caution.

Running order at the caution, Workman Jr, (Moore, Wines, Walters) battle for 2nd place for last several laps, 5th place Jerry Schram, Vitale, Ferrando, James, Jeff Biffle, Scott Puncochar, Suckow, Brandon Biffle.

On the restart Workman Jr staying on the high side with Moore following, Wines on the bottom would clear Moore and get under Workman, the two would battle for several laps until Workman cleared, Moore and Jason Wines would battle for 2nd with Walters in tow until a second caution on lap 28 for the damaged car of Cody Sell in turns 3 & 4 who had gotten into the outside wall.

Running order at the caution, Workman Jr, Moore, Wines, Walters, Jimmy Schram, Brady Sell, Eric Sayre, Suckow, Vitale, Jerry Schram, Ferrando, James, Cody Sell, Jeff Biffle, Puncochar, Brandon Biffle.

On the restart Wines again would return to the bottom and get under Workman Jr, the two would race for the top spot several laps with Wines at one point clearing Workman briefly but Workman would quickly come back, the tow raced for several laps until Workman cleared for a final time. Jason Wines was quickly under pressure from Steve Moore and Greg Walters, Walters appeared a little faster of the three but had no place to go, the three remained together for the remainder of the race finishing a close 2nd, 3rd and 4th. This would be Billy Workman Jr first DAA NW spec motor touring main event win and the 19 year olds biggest win of his racing career.
