ELMA, Wash. (July 16) - Casey Vitale picks up first DAA NW win at Grays Harbor Raceway.

18 cars made the tow to Grays Harbor Raceway along with co-owner and Nascar star Greg Biffle. Casey Vitale from Lebanon, Ore. driving a Rocket chassis owned by Jody Tanner and Scott Puncochar from Hillsboro, Ore. made both made their first showing of the season.

Jerry Schram set fast time in his #16 Mastersbilt with a new track record with a lap of 16.800 and also won the 4 lap trophy dash. Jerry while accepting his trophy rolled a 4 to determine the invert for the main event.

Heat race winners were Jimmy Schram from Vancouver, Wa. Russ Sell from Brownsville, Ore. and Casey Vitale. All 18 cars would start the

Casey Vitale quickly jumped out front at the start but the field was quickly slowed for a quick caution on the 2nd lap for debris on the front stretch.

Running order at the caution was Vitale, Wines, Walters, Suckow, Moore, Jerry Schram, Puncochar, Workman Jr, R. Sell, B. Trout, Jimmy Schram, B. Biffle, James, Ray, Ferrando, Danahoo, J. Biffle, D. Trout.

Vitale returned to the lead at the start with Jason Wines and current point's leader Greg Walters in tow in 3rd but a second caution quickly came on lap 3 for the single car spin of Brittany Ray coming out of turn 4.

Running order at the caution was Vitale, Wines, Walters, Suckow, Moore, Jerry Schram, Puncochar, Workman Jr, R. Sell, B. Trout, Jimmy Schram, B. Biffle, James, Ray, Ferrando, Danahoo, J. Biffle, D. Trout.

The final caution came on flew on lap 23 for Brittany Ray #12 again spinning coming out of turn but this time collecting an infield tractor tire damaging her car from competition, Walters had passed Wines for 2nd before the caution.

Running order at the caution flag Vitale, Walters, Wines, Jerry Schram, Moore, Russ Sell, Workman Jr, Puncochar, Suckow, B. Trout, Jimmy Schram, B. Biffle, Ferrando, James, Jeff Biffle. Britton Danahoo #5 had a battery cable come off taking him out the race.

Casey Vitale would go and win out the box with Greg Walters finishing second and Jerry Schram third. Terry Ferrando of Keizer Ore. picked up the leftcoastmotorsports.com hard charger award.

The series next race is Saturday July 17th at the series home track Sunset Speedway Park located in Banks, Oregon.
