Harlan Osborne PETALUMA, Calif. (June 19) - In Petaluma Speedway's All-Pro Late Model feature Morgan Hill's Jeff Decker bolted into the lead on a lap 10 restart before running away from his pursuers and opening a wide lead to earn his fifth victory in six starts.
A strident battle for second place between early leader Rod Arnold, who led from the start before relinquishing the front spot to Decker, and defending division champion John Silva, turned into a fender-bumping battle for second place in which Arnold apparently successfully defended his position, but in the eyes of track officials was guilty of elbowing Silva of his rightful place. In a post-race reversal, Silva was awarded second place and Arnold dropped to third in the official finish. Rounding out the finish were Anthony Restad, Rick Shafer, Paul Guglielmoni, Dean DeVolder, who earlier in the program won the trophy dash for his first ever Late Model win, Nathan Smith, and Danny Potts.
