Steve Hixson CHATSWORTH, Ga. (July 3) - The CHATTANOOGA FLASH Ronnie Johnson flat-out hauled the mail Saturday night at the North Georgia Speedway, beating pole sitter (Fast Qualifier) Tony Knowles and the rest of the INDEPENDENCE WEEKEND field by a half of a track for the $2,000 Super Late Model Championship. The 30 lapper saw the 13-car field get locked in from qualifying time trials, with Knowles and RJ taking the FRONT ROW JOE honors. After an aluminating professional fireworks display over the turn one area of the track, Johnson in his # 5 "Simmons Lawn Care, Transport One, American Billett, AFCO Racing Products, Miller Bros Coal, Koontz Plumbing & Construction" sponsored 525CT Crate Motored / MasterSbilt racecar ran and hid from the field. Rick Hixson worked past the COACH David Payne during the feature to come away with 3rd, behind Knowles. Johnson thanked all the racefans for coming out to North GA Speedway and stated without all his friends assistance, what he does behind the wheel, would NOT be able to be done.
