WINCHESTER, Va. (September 25) - Winchester Speedway hosted its annual Winchester 200 on September 24th and 25th and it was Josh Richards picking up the $10,000 to win main event. 50 Late Models checked into the pit area for the 2 day event with the running of time trials on Friday night with Ronnie Dehaven Jr setting the fast time with a 15.725 time. Time trials would determine the field for the heat race line-ups. The heat race winners were Ronnie Dehaven Jr, J.T. Spence, Gary Stuhler, Jeremy Miller, Mark Pettyjohn, and Jason Covert. The top 24 fastest in time trials then would advance to a 30 lap $2000 to win event on Friday night in which J.T Spence would pick up that win.

The 30 lap caution free main on Friday night was determined by the 24 fastest time trials and it was JT Spence picking up the win. Ronnie Dehaven Jr and Spence would bring the field to the green with Spence taking the lead over Dehaven. The two battled for several laps but Dehaven could not make the pass on Spence. Third place runner DJ Myers got into the mix but could not make the pass on Dehaven. Spence would pick up the main with Dehaven second, third DJ Myers, Mark Pettyjohn fourth and rounding out the top five was Gary Stuhler.

On Saturday night the Late Models were split into two separate groups to run (2) 25 lap main events that paid $1000 to the winners and its was Josh Richards picking up main # 1 and JT Spence picking up main #2 to set the field for the final 50 lap main event. Late Model main #1 seen Ronnie Dehaven Jr and Gary Stuhler lead the field to the green with Dehaven taking the top spot only to see the caution fly to reset the field. Field reset seen Dehaven take the top spot again but third place Richards would make the move on lap four to make the pass only to be passed back on lap five by Dehaven. Caution flew again on lap seven . Field ready for green with Dehaven and Richards as Eckert would make the move for second on lap nine moving Richards to third. Dehaven in control , but the battle was for the runner up spot as Richards would make the pass on Eckert on lap nineteen to take second. The final caution of the event flew on lap twenty to reset the field. Dehaven, Richards and Eckert all looking for the win would see Richards take the top spot on lap twenty-one and go onto claim the win. Eckert would cross second, third Dehaven, fourth Stuhler, fifth Jamie Lathroum, sixth Roy Deese Jr, seventh Bo Feathers, eighth Walker Arthur, ninth Andy Anderson, tenth Mark Pettyjohn, eleventh Frankie Plessinger, and twelth went to Gerald Davis who all would advance to the 50 lap $10,000 to win main.

The second 25 lap Late Model main went to JT Spence. Front row starters Spence and Jeremy Miller would lead the field to the green with Miller taking the top spot on lap one only to be passed by Myers on lap 2 for the top spot. Caution would fly on lap eight to slow the field. Myers in the top spot had his hands full as Spence would make the pass on lap twenty to take the lead. Spence never looked back and would claim his second win of the weekend. Second went to Myers, third Tommy Armel, fourth Keith Jackson, fifth Booper Bare, sixth Jeremy Miller, seventh Jim Bernheisel, eighth Allan Brannon, ninth Wesley Bonebrake, tenth Nick Dickson, eleventh Mike Lupfer and rounding out the top twelve was Dale Hollidge who all would advance to the 50 lap main event.

The final 50 lap main event would see Josh Richards and JT Spence lead the field to the green with Spence taking the top spot on lap one. Spence and Richards would battle as Richards would make the pass on lap five to take the top spot. Richards in control would have to work thru lapped traffic on lap thirteen to stay in the top spot. Caution flew on lap seventeen for debris to slow the field. Richards leading the way would see Spence try to make the move but could not make the pass. Josh Richards would go onto claim the $10,000 to win main. Spence would cross second, third Rick Ecvkert, fourth Gary Stuhler and rounding out the top five was DJ Myers.
