NEWBERRYTOWN, Penn. (September 11) - Fawn Grove's Chris Knopp picked up his fourth win of the season by claiming the 20-lap Late Model feature event at the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday night. Doug Bennett of Chambersburg wired the field from start-to-finish to win his fifth Street Stock feature event of the season. Mark Watkins of McConnellsburg made it 3-for-3 this season at SSP by winning the 20-lap PA Sprint Series feature event. Dover's Matt Wampler earned his first Xtreme Stock Car race of the season by besting Mike Zeigler Jr. and Donnie Broderick in the 20 lapper. York Haven's Daryl Sipe was victorious in the 12-lap Mini Van feature event.

From the pole position, John Moser Jr. took the early lead in the 20-lap Late Model feature event. Moser extended his lead over runner-up Chris Knopp by half a straight-away as he entered lapped traffic on lap 6. As Moser began to put cars a lap down, the yellow flag flew the next circuit, putting Knopp on the rear bumper of the leader. On the restart, Moser went low into turn 1, giving Knopp a chance for the pass on the highside. As the pair came to the start/finish line to complete the lap, Knopp edged out Moser by a foot to claim the lead. Another yellow on lap 8 created another single file restart. From there, Knopp continued to use the high side to keep command of his lead. On lap 11, Randy Christine Jr. powered around Moser on the highside to move into the runner-up spot behind Knopp. A caution on lap 12 once again closed up the field.

On the restart, Christine jumped the cushion in turn 1, moving him back to fourth behind Moser and Carl Billet. Entering the next turn, Christine's machine came to a stop in turn 4. On the next lap 13 restart, Knopp began to extend his lead once again as Moser and Billet battled for the second spot. Meanwhile, SSP point leader moved from a 13th place starting spot into fifth behind Charles Potts. On lap 16 Potts moved by Billet and began to chase down Moser. On lap 17, Larry Baer collected Carl Billet and was sent to the rear when the caution flew once again setting up a three lap shoot-out for the win. Knopp led the final three circuits to pick up his fourth Late Models win of the season. Moser finished second, followed by Justin Ehrhart in a late race charge. Potts and Grant Adams rounded out the top five. Kyle Saylor, John Moser and Randy Christine Jr. were the heat race victors.
