Mike Swanger MILLERSBURG, Ohio (August 28) - It was Season Championship night sponsored by Village Motors at Hilltop Speedway and at the end of the night, new champions were crowned after some of the usual crowd pleasing action was finished. The Super Late Model feature was a close battle from the drop of the green as Ryan Markham led the field with George Lee, Dave Hornikel, and Wayne Maffett Jr. in hot pursuit. Lee and Hornikel would make contact with each other on lap three with Hornikel being charged with the caution. On the restart, Maffett Jr. used the low groove to swipe the lead away from Markham with Lee and fast qualifier, Spud Myers now in a duel for third with Myers taking over on lap five as 8th starting Jason Flory would move past Lee two laps later. Up front it was side by side racing between Maffett Jr and Markham as neither would be able to get a car length lead. As the caution came out on lap 13 for Bryan Casey, Flory and Myers collided as they battled for third with Myers' car being severally bruised, ending his night. On the restart, Flory would edge his way past Markham and then use the high groove to take the lead away from Maffett Jr. on the next lap. The Creston driver and his Joe McIlvaine Trucking, Ray's Garage, and Hodges Café #02would lead the rest of the way for his first Hilltop win of the season as Markham took second from Maffett Jr. Lee held off a fast closing Mark Gardiner for fourth. Kristin Flory won the last chance race as Markham was the dash winner with Tom Baker and Jason Flory won the heats. By finishing sixth, Millersburg's Charlie Duncan secured the Season Championship crown.

The Snyder Brothers Tri-State Modifieds had double duty action with the make up feature from the 14th of August plus the regular program to run. Picking up on lap two, Warsaw's Norm Aronhalt would breeze to post his fifth win of the year aboard the Dari Hut, Crazy Acres Trophies, and Wyler Enterprises #309. As Aronhalt drove away with the win, the fan's eyes were watching the battle for second as Robin Duston, Ryan West, Rick Mardis and Kyle Brown were all in the mix for a top five finish and would finish in that order. The regular feature was a whole different race as Darrick Hubbard used the pole position to set the pace with Brown, Duston, and West again bunched together with Aronhalt in fifth. Duston would move into second at the halfway mark with Brown and West vying for third with Aronhalt and Lee side by side for fifth. With five to go, Aronhalt motored past Brown for fourth as Duston was riding Hubbard's bumper for the lead. West would give up third to Aronhalt with two to go and with the white flag waving and lapped traffic looming, Duston made one last run on Hubbard and the two went into turn three side by side and coming out of turn four, Duston out dragged Hubbard back to the line by less than a foot. For the Newark driver and his Hayman's Dari Bar, Capital City Oil, and A & M Muffler #85, it was his first trip to victory lane. Aronhalt, West and Brown followed. All five of the top five won their heats with Rory Reed and Aaron Phillis topping the last chance races. Clark's Hilton Eppley started the night with a 13 point lead over George Lee for the points race and in a rarity that saw both Lee and Eppley finish sixth and seventh in both features, Eppley wins the championship by 7 points.
Troy's Brandon Gardner took the outside front row starting position and take the lead in the Street Stock feature and never look back as the Maibach Ford and L & L Motors #27g would park in victory circle for the seventh time this season and 30th career win at Hilltop Speedway. Donna Canode would stay close to Gardner early in the race as she eventually would have to hold off Todd Swim and Mark Gardiner for second. Gardiner would take third from Swim midway through the race to claim third as John Wilson would round out the top five. Swim, Gardner, and Canode pocketed the heat wins as Swim gathered in the points crown just by starting the feature.
The second of three class' that had two features to run were the Circle Track Mini Trucks and in the make up main, Coshocton's Jack Large moved past front row starters Scott Gray and John Large on the opening lap and then hold off Jerry Gardner late in the race to win his third feature of the year aboard the Performance Auto #07. Logan Brannon had a career best third place finish with Kevin Potts and Gray filling in the top five. Tom Garlick set the pace for the first two laps of the regular feature and when he got to sideways in turn two on lap three, David Potts and Brandon Gardner moved past Garlick. Both Potts and Gardner in their first year of racing trucks were both looking for their first win. The Sunbury based #26 truck of Potts held off Gardner to post the win as Dad Kevin Potts finished third in front of Jerry Gardner and John Large. Kevin Potts, Jerry Gardner and Brandon Gardner (no relation) notched the heat wins. Rolly Heyder was the points leader going into the night, but by not racing gave up the points lead and it came down to Kevin Potts and Jerry Gardner and after the 1st feature, Gardner had a four point lead but with double points Potts' third place finish ahead of Gardner's fourth place finish, gives Potts the crown by four points.
Killbuck's Jerry Adkins went flag to flag to win the Holmes Tire Mini Stock make up feature with Terry Adkins moving past Jordan James at the half way point to take second while Chris Priebe would drop James another spot on the sixth lap for third. James held of Mike Rose for fourth. Jason St. John of Killbuck led all the way to win the regular feature as James tried to chase him down but settled for second. Jerry Adkins and Kyle Moore went back and forth all race long for third with Adkins winning that battle for third as Tanner Neel rounded out the top five. Heat wins went to St. John, James, and Zach Foss. Loudonville's James locked up the season points crown. Zanesville's Blake Morris won his fifth Mini Wedge feature of the year as he borrowed Dillyn Wyer's wedge in the heat race. Chase Osborne was second followed by Cole Lillibridge, heat winner and track champion Tanner Johnson, and Josey Lillibridge. Wyer was the other heat winner.
