JAMAICA, Va. (July 24) - It was a case of being at the right place at the right time for Scott Adams of Chester, VA. The current Victory Lap Late Model point leader battled for the lead for much of the first 31 laps of the 35 lap feature. On lap 32 Adams fortuned turned for the better as leader Davis Lipcombe's car slowed in turn 3 handing the lead over to Adams. On the races final restart Adams pulled away to pick up his first win of 2010.

"You hate to win them that way but we put ourselves in position to be there at the end for the victory, it really feels good to get a win with the caliber of drivers we have here at VMS," commented Adams in Victory lane.

Rounding out the top five were Matt Marshall, Tom Cohick, Matt Morgan and Ben Bowie.

Davis Lipscombe and Tom Cohick led the field to green with Lipscombe leading the first circuit. Stevie Long would get by Lipscombe on lap 2 for the lead and would set a blistering pace. On lap 8 Long's night would come to an early end with mechanical issues handing the lead over to Lipscombe.

On the restart Lipscombe pulled away and looked almost untouchable. With ten to go Lipscombe had a 10 car length advantage over Adams, but on lap 31 Lipscombe's night would come to an end as the car came to a stop in turn 3 bringing out the races final caution and handing the lead over to Adams.

On the restart Adams pulled away from Marshall and the rest of the field and cruised to his first win of the season.
