HAGERSTOWN, Md. (July 17) - Alan Sagi of Hagerstown, Maryland broke a winless drought that dated back to October 2007 as he notched his first late model feature win of the season and first-ever win for car owner John Chamberlain at the Hagerstown Speedway.

Severna Park Md.'s Kyle Lear, the area's hottest late model sportsman driver, scored his third feature win in a row as he captured the second annual 31-lap Bill Bowman memorial. Hedgesville West Virginia's Danny Beavers became the sixth different winner in the pure stock ranks with his career first win in the division and Keedysville Md.'s "Krazy" Kenny Thomas continued his winning ways as he scored his fourth win of the season in the 30-lap enduro dash.

Larry Baker and Steve Gibney brought the field down to the initial green flag of the 25-lap late model event. As the pack entered the first turn, fifth starting Tyler Hershey blasted into the race lead. As Hershey lead effortlessly, fourth-starting Alan Sagi was on the move. It took Sagi only three-laps to track down Hershey, and Sagi would eventually make what would be the winning pass on lap-eight. From that point on, Sagi proved to have the dominate car as he would eventually take the checkered flag by nearly a straightaway of runner-up Tyler Hershey. "This win is all for my car owner John Chamberlain." Sagi stated from victory lane. "We almost had one there about three weeks ago but lapped cars got in the way and Gary Stuhler got us at the line, but I felt we had one coming." Drier than normal track conditions left many drivers with multiple set-up options prior to the feature. "We were set-up to run the top but had to go to the bottom to pass some cars." Sagi stated. "The car felt good up top but we had to change our line a little the deeper we got into the race to get by Tyler (Hershey)." Roy Deese Jr. would take third, current point leader Frankie Plessinger came from 11th to post fourth and Marvin Winters completed the top-five. Heats went to Roy Deese Jr. and Gary Stuhler.
