SUSQUEHANNA, Penn. (July 16) - Mike Gular of Green Lane, PA dueled Bobby Trapper of Scranton over the thirty lap distance to claim his third modified victory of the season on Pump-N-Pantry Night at Penn Can Speedway. In the companion super late model main event Dan Stone of Thompson made it two in a row while Grant Hilfiger of Canandensis won again in the crate sportsman. Shane Wolf Sr of Susquehanna nipped Butch Green of Newark Valley, New York at the line for another street stock win while John Warren of New Milford made it two in a row in the four cylinders.
The late model feature saw Ben Whitaker and Jim O'Hara jump out to the front during the early laps of the race with Tracy Gregory and Dan Stone moving to the front. With the lead cars glued to the inside groove, Stone saw the opening on the outside and moved into third position on lap six. Whitaker and Gregory were having their own battle out front. Stone move around Gregory and chased down Whitaker to take the lead on lap nine. With only limited cautions, Stone built up a big lead over Whitaker and Gregory. Stone held strong over the remaining laps and won for the second week in a row. Whitaker, Gregory, O'Hara, and Dave Zona rounded out the top five.
