PITTSBURGH, Penn. (June 26) - In the Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic DIRTcar Super Late Models, Cranberry Twp. PA's Lynn Geisler proved that age is meaningless, as the 60 year old picked up his first win since June 21 2008. Geisler started 4th and took over the lead on the first lap, and held off a persistent Jared Miley to grab the win. Miley ended up second followed by point leader Mike Johnson, Steve Baker, Brandon Burgoon, Dave Wade, Chuck Medved, Doug Crawford, Jim Lepro and Ben Miley. Jared Miley and Brandon Burgoon won the heats.
The Brougher's Machine Shop Fastrak Crates had Burgettstown PA's Kyle Lukon pick up his third win of 2010. It was a battle between two of the classes biggest winners, as Mike Pegher Jr. and Lukon went at it for a good portion of the event, but for the second week in a row Pegher's luck turned sour in the late stages of the event as his motor went sour while he was starting to pull away from Lukon. At that point it was all 3rd starting Lukon, as he held off a strong Mike Reft to win the event. Josh Holtgraver was third followed by Bryant Hank. The heats saw Josh Holtgraver and Mike Pegher Jr. take the wins.
McKees Rocks PA's Jake Simmons continued to be the man to beat in the Sunoco Race Fuels DIRTcar Cadets, holding off last week's winner Chris Schneider to pick up win #4 of the young season. Simmons started 7th and took the lead off Nick Kocuba on lap 5, and battled with Chris Schneider for the last half of the event to grab the victory. Pat Weldon was a close third followed by Craig Koteles, Bob Schwartzmiller, Gary Koteles, Bobby Heim, Joe Koteles, Kocuba, and Mitch Wattelet. The two heats saw Pat Weldon and Chris Schneider take the heats.
After struggling a bit to find victory lane in the early season, Midway PA's Daryl Charlier won his second win in a row in the Miley RV Service UMP-Modifieds. Charlier started in 3rd and took the lead on lap 2 and never looked back in a romp. Chris Basich ran a solid race to finish second followed by Kari Gasser, J.E. Stalder, Vince Laboon, Clayton Kennedy, Kevin Miller, Tom Martineck, Willy Briggs, and Brad Westover. The two heats saw Chris Basich and Chuck Kennedy grab the wins.
The Miley Car Wash DIRTcar Hobby Stocks saw Pittsburgh PA's Eric Goldberg pick up his second win of the season. Goldberg came from 6th and survived an early race tangle while battling for the lead, to get the victory. Brian Huchko was second followed by John Chipps, Adam Chytil, Ed Wiser, Garrett Keller, and Jason Herniak. Eric Goldberg also won the heat.
The Imperial Heights Garage DIRTcar Young Guns, Chester WV's Tyler Atkinson picked up his first win of 2010. Alec Broniszewski was second followed by Daniel White, Adam Carson, Hannah Ramsey, Joe Gombach III and Trevor Gombach.
