George Baumann PLYMOUTH, Wisc. (July 31) - A smooth and tacky track made for fast racing in all four divisions. Feature winners were, Jim Melis (Glenbuelah) in the Sprint Division, Russ Scheffler (Waukesha) Late Models, Matt Yancey (Sheboygan) Grand Nationals, and Andy Singer (Cascade) Outlaw Compacts.
Scheffler won the Late Model Feature after the two lead cars wrecked on lap sixteen. Rick Scheffler led early with brother Russ close behind. Turk Letizia (Milwaukee) would take the second spot on lap eight and close in on the race leader.
Tim Buhler (Glenbuelah) and Randy Markwardt (Sheboygan) raced each other close and after ten laps were close behind the leaders. Then on lap sixteen, Rick Scheffler slid high in turn one allowing Letizia to pass, but in turn three, Scheffler ran under Letizia but slid sideways right in front of Letizia, and the two cars collided.
For the restart, Scheffler would be at the back and Letizia in the pits with front-end damage and Russ Scheffler in the lead. Buhler by now was in second and racing very close with Scheffler, Brad Mueller (Random Lake) after starting eleventh was third just ahead of Markwardt.
They would finish in that order with Ted Dolhun Sr. (Franklin) fifth.
