MANITOWOC, Wisc. (July 16) - After a long wet week, drivers and fans alike were ready for some EWSC racing action as the night got underway Friday night.
The Monster Energy Late Models A Main started with a front row of Randy Markwardt (Sheboygan), and Tim Buhler (Glenbeulah), and a second row of Rick Scheffler (Waukesha) and Chris Carlson (North Cape). Racers were moving all over the track to find their preferred lines. There was a caution on Lap 8 for the car of Jim Schmidt (Cleveland) which died in Turn 3&4. The restart was led by Markwardt, Buhler, Rick Scheffler, Carlson, Ron Stroika (Mukwonago) and Bob Cullen (Chilton). Another quick caution on Lap 10 for Buhler who came to a halt in Turn 3. Markwardt again led the restart, followed by Rick, then Russ Scheffler, Stroika, Carlson, and Craig Schueffner (Sheboygan Falls). Just hard racing from there on out as the rest was run caution free with Markwardt taking the win, followed by Rick, Russ, Carlson, Cullen, Stroika, Dan Dippel (Plymouth), Schueffner, Dan Sorce (Franklin), and Frank Geiger (Whitelaw).
