CLEVELAND, Tenn. (June 5) - In a repeat, where the Cleveland (TN) Speedway hasn't seen but one other so far this season, Todd Morrow took the checkers for the second time this season in Super Late Model competition. Just like in mid-April the black # T1 "Gravitt Racing, KC Racing Graphics, MGR, Tindell & Son's Garage" DWB / Race Engine Design powered SLM raced to the checkers of the 30 lap "A" Main feature, ahead of a hard chargin' Rick Hixson. Dusty Carver followed Morrow for most of the race, with Skip Arp (in a yellow # 80) entrenched with (1999 Southern All-Star Champion) Jamie Perry. Once by Perry, Hixson made quick work of Carver only to run outta laps against Morrow. Arp crashed halfway thru the race while Shawn Chastain narrowly passed Jason Payne for 5th under the checkers.

As good as a sequel gets, Bobby Mayse survived a SLUGG-FEST of a Mid Season Championship for the LLM/Crate division, oddly enough taking the win just like he did when Morrow beat Hixson back in April. The # 22 "Mayse Construction, Stealth Racing Carburators" sponsored (former ICE BOWL Champ) raced the lead away from David Doss for the $1,000 payday. Before Doss and Mayse danced it was THE BRIAN & BRIAN SHOW as FRONT ROW JOE's Brian Pritchard and Brian Jackson (FQ) duked it out for the lead lap after lap, til the two crashed on the front straight-away. Doss finished second in his career best outing, finishing ahead of Tanner Works. Justin Litchford and Michael Combs rounded out the Top 5.

Lamar Hughes won the B-Hobby feature over Eric Hughes, Daniel Johnston, Adam Earwood and B.J. Wilson. In the A-Hobby it was Richard Dixon passing leader Dustin Cansler late in the 20 lapper for another win. Cansler narrowly held off John Clark at the finish. Scott Gravitt and Scottie Hogan rounded out the Top 5. In the Pony feature John Brogden took the victory. Rounding out the Top 5 were; DOWNTOWN Jimmy Brown, Tim Duggard, Sean Truelove and Danny Burnette. The final race of the night (FWD) was won for the second consecutive week by Tom Gilbert. Cleveland Speedway is gearing up for the big LUCAS OIL DIRT SERIES event the RACE for a CURE (Juvenile Diabetes) in just over a week (Thurs. Night June 17th).
