NEWBERRYTOWN, Ga. (May 8) - From the pole position, Kyle Saylor took the early lead at the start of the 20-lap Late Model event. However, the driver on the move early in the race was Larry Baer from his fifth starting position. By lap five, Baer moved around Justin Ehrhart for second place and set his sights on Saylor. As he positioned himself for a pass in turns 1 & 2, Baer entered too hard and spun on lap seven bringing out the yellow flag. On the restart, Knaub went from third to first on lap 8, all the way from a ninth place starting spot. With the wind as his back, Knaub set sail for his first win of the season. Kyle Saylor finished third with Randy Christine Jr. winning a wild last lap battle between four cars to take third. Mike Walls followed in fourth with Ehrhart fifth. Multi-time track champion Carl Billet finally got the 2010 "bad luck" monkey off his back to finish a strong sixth. Walls, Knaub and Saylor scored the heat race wins.
