EAMS Media PHENIX CITY, Ala. (May 8) - Richie "Rocketman" Stephens returned to the East Alabama Motor Speedway Victory Lane for the second week in a row in the Alabama Rock Late Model Division. First up for the Late Models would be the Extreme Power Sports qualifying where Dana Eiland turned in a lap of 15:28 to earn the pole position for the feature. The stage was set for another great race with Dana Eiland and Rodgerick Dykes leading the field to the green flag. Eiland jumped into the lead with Stephens who started in the third position taking over second, Dykes was third with Chase Edge in fourth. Eiland and Stephens battled for the lead for several laps with Eiland pulling away from the field with a comfortable lead. Dykes and Edge was busy battling for the third position with Edge taking over the position. On lap nine the caution flag would fly for the only time during the race taking away the lead Eiland had built up. When the race went back green Stephens was all over Eiland. Eiland and Stephens raced several laps side by side with Stephens taking the position and picking up the checkers for the third time this season. Dana Eiland was second, Chase Edge was third, Rodgerick Dykes was fourth and Chad Carden was fifth.
In Limited Sportsman Joey Eiland started from the pole. Steve Gaines, Jr who started third was quickly challenging for the lead. Thomas Lewis and Joey Thomas was battling for the third position with Thomas taking the spot on lap 2. Eiland and Gaines continued racing for the lead. The caution would fly on lap 8 when Joey Thomas who was running the high line ran out of real estate and went over in turn one. When the race re-started Eiland held off Gaines for the win. Joey Eiland was followed to the checkers by Steven Gaines, Jr, Thomas Lewis, Joey Thomas and Efrem Holbrook.
The Hobby division began with Allen McConnell and Jason Craft leading the field to the green. Jason Craft took the lead and never looked back as he took the checkers for his second win of the year. Kevin Bennett finished second, Allen McConnell third, Rodney Gorman fourth, and Stephen Goins finished fifth.
In the Bomber division Jimmy Thomas and Israel West started the feature from the front row. Thomas took the lead at the drop of the green and never looked back picking up the checkers.
Cameron Metts worked his way thru the filed from his fourth starting position to pick up second place. Cameron Metts, Israel West, Chris Barfield and Dave Bartholf rounded out the top five.
Brand Lewis and Jeff Culpepper started the Modified feature from the front row. Jeff Culpepper took the lead on lap one and held on for the checkers. Brand Lewis finished second, Herbie Donath third and James Fountain fourth.
The Pony Stock division started its feature with Larry Hodnett on the pole. Hodnett took the lead at the drop of the green. On lap 3 Tim Goins passed Hodnett. Tim Goins finished first, Rick Gilliland second, Patty Ann Hoell third and Larry Hodnett fourth.
