Steve Hixson CLEVEAND, Tenn. (April 17) - On a night when anything could happen and did... THE BLONDE BOMBER Todd Morrow took his first win of 2010 Saturday night at his home track the Cleveland Speedway. Morrow wasn't the fastest of the dozen Super Late Models when CAR SMART AUTO SALES Qualifying rolled around, but he was there for 30 full laps of the feature. SHORTY Keith Frazier set 2nd fast time with his first of two laps, only to crash hard into the wall coming to the checkers. Enter Preston Graves: The WHITE KNIGHT IN THE BLACK RACECAR clocked fastest lap with a 13:917. Unfortunately Graves failed to make the heat and would end up starting last. Morrow and Robby Moses were the FRONT ROW JOE's of the feature and it was the # T1 "Gravitt Racing, KC Racing Graphics, MGR, Tindell & Son's Garage" DWB / Race Engine Design powered grabbing the lead. Rick Hixson would work up and past Moses as Graves began his charge to the front. Brad Allen and Jason Payne battled for the final Top 5 position with Allen getting it on the last lap. Hixson would keep pressure on Morrow but flag to flag would be his for the taking. Behind Hixson was Graves and Moses.
In other racing action it was Bobby Mayse working past Brian Pritchard and the #3 BIG RED MACHINE for his 2nd consecutive 20 lap LLM/Crate feature. Jacob Anderson, Tod Hernandez, Bobby Doss and Tanner Works rounded out the Top 5. Richard Dixon went non-stop in the "A" Hobby feature. Dustin Cansler gave chase but was the runner-up. Chattanooga's Allen Jolly was 3rd with Mitch Brady Jr and Chris Steward following. Hunter Boyd won the FWD feature. Daniel Burnette won the Pony race, with BJ Wilson taking the B-Hobby feature. Another exciting Full Racing Program is on-tap for next Saturday night April 24th. On Saturday night May 1st, KIDS BYCYCLE RACES will take to the track for a variety of age groups.
