Steve Hixson CLEVELAND, Tenn. (March 27) - The almost 20 year racing veteran Lamar Scoggins took Saturday nights $1,200. to-WIN Super Late Model, 30 lap, feature at his hometown track in Cleveland, Tennessee. The Cleveland Speedway crowd and competition may not have been to capacity, but still the action was red-hot as Scoggins, in his unmarked (and for sale) white #32 "M&S Motors, Chambers Equipment Sales" sponsored GRT racecar, dove under leader Keith Frazier on lap 3 for the lead. It took Todd Morrow most of the first half of the race to come-alive, but once he did, Scoggins musta felt the pressure. Morrow closed but it was too little too late. Morrow passed Jake Knowles for third then Frazier for second but ran outta laps on Scoggins. Craig Burrows rounded out the Top 5 when Rick Hixson's motor let go midway in the race.
The BIG RED MACHINE; Brian Pritchard pocketed another $600 payday capturing his 2nd win in a row in the LLM/Crate 20 lap feature race. BP put his # 3 "George Shaw Racing" sponsored Race Engine Design racecar into victory lane as a hard chargin' Jerry Coffman gave chase. Coffman raced past Jacob Anderson early and survived a tussle with Justin Litchford (and the LITCHMOB) for the runner-up spot. Kenny Kizzar, Tanner Works and 2009 division champ Bobby Doss rounded out the Top 5. Chuck Heiling in the #444 won the B-Hobby, Richard Dixon beat last weekends winner Dustin Cansler in the A-Hobby, while Jimmy Elliott won the battle of the 39's in the Pony feature. The FWD race was won by Derrick Forgey, with Larry Patterson pocketing this weekend LUCKY-DOG $100 bonus. Next Saturday; SPEED-RABBIT (the Easter Bunny's cousin) comes to Cleveland Speedway for an Egg Hunt for Kids. Visit www.clevelandspeedway.com for more.
